We have finally reached the last days of 2020, a year unlike any other in recent history. As the days of the pandemic turned into weeks and then months, life felt as though we have each been living in a diaspora in our own homes. That we experienced this during a time of social upheaval and a contentious election has amplified the need to hold fast to our community. We are indeed blessed to have so deep a connection to each other, our extended family of Congregation Sinai.
At Sinai’s birth 65 years ago, our founders realized that an annual end-of-year appeal would be crucial to ensure our youth education, worship and festivals, social activities, maintain our beautiful synagogue, and provide critical services to our members. In these days of impending winter, we ask you again to help strengthen our community with a gift to our annual Builders and Founders Appeal. We are aware that you have already made your generous annual pledge to sustain our community. However, we once again conduct the Builders and Founders Appeal because our voluntary pledges only meet 70% of our annual budget. This annual appeal will help to bridge that gap. Our Sinai family continues for you, because of you. Thank you.
Despite the unimaginable challenges we have faced in the last year, Congregation Sinai remains our spiritual home, a place where we renew ties to Judaism and to each other. We are truly blessed with dedicated and talented clergy and staff whose partnership with our volunteer lay leaders and energized members sustains our community. Your participation in activities and your generous financial support enable our Sinai family, and it is a family, to thrive.
One of the many ways that our leadership has moved us forward is by enabling you to fund contributions or pledges by transferring appreciated publicly-traded stock or by using IRA distributions to Sinai. Please see the downloadable donation form on this webpage for details.
Thank you for supporting this annual appeal with an additional donation. Please fill out the form below or complete this downloadable form and return it along with your donation to Congregation Sinai so that it is postmarked or received electronically by December 31, 2020.
Wishing you all a healthy and safe 2021,
Josh Parkes, President Dick Seesel, VP Jenni Goldbaum, VP Mike Weinshel
Michael Hool, Treasurer Gillian Rodger, Secretary
